Hi, I’m Ellis. Here is my personal framework for your child’s success.

True success in mathematics and science goes far beyond the final grade on an exam paper. Real progression happens when a student shifts from staring at a complex problem with angst to attacking it with a structured, logical strategy.

My approach focuses on building deep, foundational confidence. By mastering core concepts and understanding the mechanics behind the content, students don’t just memorize steps—they develop critical thinking skills and resilience that serve them long after exam season is over.

Foundation 01

Order and Structured Clarity

I believe that external order creates internal mental space. We strip away classroom noise and layout overcomplication, providing a predictable, structured baseline where complex ideas are broken down into clean, logical frameworks.

Foundation 02

Continuous Optimisation

True progression relies on the rule that there are always ways to improve. Through precise, data-driven diagnostic tracking, we continuously look for ways to streamline your child’s learning, target hidden knowledge gaps, and maximize functional efficiency.

Foundation 03

Empathy and Compassion

While my framework is deeply rooted in logic and subject mastery, my focus is on the human element. I offer a grounded, respectful space to listen to your child’s struggles, dismantle anxiety, and build the resilience needed for genuine success.

Why parents and students choose tuition with me.

Tuition with Ellis

From question panic to logical exam application

Before:

[My main challenges were] understanding what the questions were asking of me, and the approach for certain questions.

After:

Having the marking points broken down into smaller more manageable chunks really helped me understand how to approach a question…

The sessions were feedback intensive and helped correct mistakes not by going over the question again but by actually thinking logically before trying the question…

It helped me realise that most of the knowledge i already had, it was the application of that knowledge to the question that i struggled with, and what the sessions helped me learn. I felt more confident going into exams…

From overwhelming knowledge gaps to the mindset to succeed

Before:

[My daughter had] big gaps in knowledge [and a] lack of confidence.

After:

Ellis was extremely engaging, knowledgeable and patient. He teaches with empathy and understands the up and downs a teenager will struggle with emotionally when struggling with a subject.

Understanding of how to answer questions effectively, gain in confidence and ability. Better understanding of the fundamentals and the mindset to continue with a subject that was originally perceived as too difficult to pass.

From home schooled anxieties to relaxed exam confidence

Before:

Ellie was home schooled since year 9 and so it was just confidence really and to make sure we had everything covered and to brush up on areas where she needed a bit more help so that she could achieve her very best.

After:

Ellis is so lovely and easy to get on with. Ellie really enjoyed her sessions and Ellis made the maths easy to understand and was so thorough.

The communication was excellent with detailed lesson plans created from Ellie’s preferred topics to be covered and follow up notes and links for further study which was also very helpful.”

More confidence and definitely able to achieve higher. Much happier and more relaxed about the exams.

Bridging the mathematical gap: A 2-grade jump

Before:

He was finding physics quite hard and didn’t really connect with one of his school teachers. He was also not taking Maths A level so that made some aspects of physics harder.

After:

He found the sessions organised and structured but led by areas he needed and wanted to focus on. He also felt comfortable and relaxed with Ellis.

Ellis was also always professional, organised, reliable and easy to communicate with from a parent’s point of view.

He improved roughly 2 grades over the 18 months and grew in confidence which removed a lot of stress when it came to actually sitting the exams.
